I am considering buying SW:TOR but before I do, I was wondering if I need to purchase the more expensive version to get extra equipment like a Training Droid, the STAP or other gear. If you can purchase it, do I need to use online ‘earned’ money or can I acutely purchase equipment? Meaning, Can I use by credit/debit card to either purchase the gear or purchase in game credits?

No you don’t need to buy the Deluxe or Collectors editions since most of that stuff is pretty useless in the game. STAP is the only thing you would actually use and it’s only good for 15 levels, plus you can buy other speeders in the game that look better for hardly any credits(in game currency).
You can buy credits from other sites for SW:TOR but it can get your account banned and it’s not even hard to acquire credits on your own in the game.You would have to be a really bad/stupid player to actually need to buy credits from a site since you get credits for doing almost everything in SW:TOR.
