Maybe Yahoo could help me deal with an answer for this. Someone I was roommates with scammed me out of over $7,000 and not only that, but the money he didn’t actually get in his hand he encouraged me to spend and waste my own money promising to be back in a few days with double my money. I lost another $4,000 from his B.S. because of that, of course, there is so much more to the story but these are just brief facts of my loss.
I do a background check and he has done this to his roommates in the past for thousands of dollars, he is bankrupt, he has done jail time, and I have his current address for this month. I have proof that he robbed me and the amount of money he took and I lost, I am in process of suing for the whole amount.
My question is, what will happen in court? In small claims he only gets a mark in his credit. I am on SSI (disabled), he made me homeless, I couldn’t afford my medication, I can’t get around town, I needed that money to travel, my life really became ruined after that. I am content with him going to jail for a couple years if that is something he will receive from court (I will also show the judge his past crimes). What else can I do? Who can I go to? I am so upset I can’t sleep at night, and while I am suffering he is enjoying himself on my 7+ grand, driving “my” car, typing on “my” computer. At least if I had known he was robbing me I could have saved my last $4,000 instead he told me to move out of my apartment and wait for him at a hotel because we were “moving”. It gets complicated but that was just one of his tactics for robbing me and then I lost the rest of my cash in my own hands. I am asking for a serious answer because I am having a really hard time coping with this.
I had some hackers do some research on him and they sent me all the semantics of his computer. He also stole a brand new cell phone from me, but I cannot make it over to the store where I can have the phone permanently shut off. I can’t find a lawyer who will take the case, filing to sue him in court has been a nightmare. I have just had these horrible thoughts about torchering him, but I am not that kind of person. I am so upset I think I may end up spending the next couple years sickening myself with this, and it may sound easier to deal with, but that was the first time I ever had any money of my own and this piece **** stole all of it!!
