Should I Take Online Classes Or Is It A Waste Of Time? (plus Other Questions)?
I have a 4 year bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and my Law Enforcement training. I am really looking for a police job but, they are hard to come by, just like other jobs and it may be a while.
I have a well paying job now but I am very unhappy. My job is really a security job where I don’t have much to do since I am sitting in one position (With nothing to do) for 12 hours just reading or on the internet. I was thinking about taking online classes while at work. I took a few classes online when I was getting my Bachelors Degree and enjoyed them.
I am interested in becoming a dietitian or something to do with personal fitness. I am interested in many other things too and wouldn’t mind earning another degree, or certification. Is it worth it in this economy? Should I do it?
If so can I still qualifty for federal pell grants or funding with online classes? I just bought a house and don’t think paying for the classes outright would be doable unless I took just one at a time.
I am 23 years old and just not happy where I am now. I’d like to have a few other options plus I love to learn.

What Should Happen Next In My Story?
“Mom, Dad, I’m leaving. I’m sorry I just can’t take it anymore. Its all my fault. I’ll be fine. I love you both.
-Shannon
I finished the note and placed it on my dresser. I knew I had to leave, I just couldn’t deal with it anymore. I bent down, my hands extending to my backpack. As I lifted it, my eyes found the glittery butterflies stitched onto the front pocket. The heaviness inside my chest became even more weighted as I remembered my mom buying it for me. The memory happened three years ago, when I was twelve, but, looking back on it now, it seemed like only yesterday. I headed down the l stairs, down narrow short hallway and out the door. I smelled the cool fall air. It was a foggy day. I loved how the fog went over the trees. Like a ghost hovering over to watch the world they left behind.
I headed to the bus station.
“One ticket to New York, please,” I said to a man sitting in a booth. He lifted his head from a magazine.
“Kay, that’d be $25,” he said. $25! I thought to myself how long will I last on the money I have? I handed him the $25 and boarded the bus. It was dirty. There were condoms and cigarettes on the floor of the bus. A homeless man went to everyone on the bus asking for money.
“Give me some change please”. He asked. I felt bad so I gave him a dollar.”Bless ya’ child,” he said to me. He said to me. I just nodded. I struggled to stay awake. I didn’t know what would happen if I were asleep. Soon. Soon we arrived at another station. I was apparently on the outskirts of New York City.
It was nearly daylight, a spark of light shown slightly over a build. I walked, it seemed as never ending walk. Until I came
upon New York City!
If I Earn Money Off Ebay And Other Online Activities Do I Need To Become Self-employed?
My dad says I don’t need to become self-employed as long as i declare it as ‘earned income’. But surely you have to declare ‘earned income’ as one of two things – an employee of someone else or an employee of yourself? You can’t just earn income as ‘nothing’.
Because depending on your status depends on how your taxed, right?.
Am I right?
Or do I not need to become self-employed?

Are Macbook Pro’s Worth The Price?
I’m looking into getting a MacBook Pro after I get the money saved up for school. I haven’t heard to much on it, but my fiance has told me that Macs are good computers and has seen several people around school( we are in college) use them and that they like them.
Right now we are using his $300 Compaq from walmart and for 2 college students, are having a hard time sharing it and keeping up with all of our homework on the same computer at the same time.
With that being said, are MacBook Pro’s worth the price? I want to make sure i’m going to get a good computer that will last me a a while, work great and get me through school( I’ve got another 5 yrs at least) if i’m going to spend that kind of money on a computer.

What Would Your Reaction Be If You Woke Up Tomorrow And Walked Out The Door For Work, …?
…then you saw your neighbour and felt something different, like ‘could this be my best friend?’ So you walked up to them and greeted them, then found out they were thinking the same thing about you! So you spoke with them and found out they were a really great person, and they thought the same about you. But you both had to part for work, so agreeing to meet at a later time, you both part mentioning how long its been since having such a good friend. Then you hopped off to the store to pick up lunch.
When you get to the store, and while walking through the store, people were saying ‘hello’ to you and greeting you. When you saw them, you realised something different was happening, they greeted you back, and it was like meeting your best friend, like earlier this morning! You looked around and you could this was happening to everyone you could see! They were so interesting and friendly, and after a few minutes you meet many more best friends, who also think the same of you. As you walked through the store to get your lunch, speaking to people throughout, most people were talking about this wonderful and surprising thing that had happened. After you get your lunch to the cash counter, the cashier wipes the $5.00 lunch and says, ‘$1.00′. But you point out, ‘It’s 5?’. She says, ‘It is a good day today, and everything is at our cost’. You insist, but she drops the change in the bag, then you become best friends, but you’re late for work.
When you get to work, a few hours late, and while you’re on your way to the managers office, you see and meet people just as you did since you woke up. They came to greet you knowing they were going to meet a really great friend, just as you knew the same. Eventually you speak to your manager about being late, but they waved that off and wanted to thank you for doing such an excellent and great job. They said that today they were running on a skeleton crew, and to take the day off, with pay of course, because of this strange phenomena. They were telling you that this is the most efficient day ever, everything was working better than ever before. They also said that they would be halving the prices of everything, or more. Also, they said not to worry, your job is safe, and from today, employees will be paid double pay on any days like this! And he sent you off home with a pat on the back, saying ‘Enjoy your day off, keep up the good work!’ So you walk out of the office amazed at what you just heard, and the employees were talking about it too, saying how today the workload is 1/10′th the regular days. As you walk back outside you see a few screens at the terminals with headlines such as: peace declared in countries around the world, mass gatherings of friends occurring through the globe, renewed sense of direction for the human race, and, kings and leaders declare sharing and love is the future. On the way out it was the same, and by the time you had made it out, nobody knew how how many best friends they made today, but they all agreed it was more than ever before.
But all this came as a bit of a shock. And just because someone was standing nearby asking if anyone needed to borrow his car, you decided to go for drive to get away from it all and think. So he gave you the keys, and told you ‘Just bring it back when your done with it, put the keys under the visor, and leave the door unlocked.’ You agreed, and drove off. But it was really low on gas, and you had to stop at a gas station to fill it up. As you were filling up, the fellow working there said hello and asked ‘Where are you driving to?’, and you said ‘To get away from it all and think’, and he said ‘Aye, i sure can understand that mate, its a very confusing day.’ After speaking to him for a while longer you both became best friends. When you went to pay for the gas, he waived it off, and pointed to a sign that said, ‘gas is free until further notice’. So you thanked him again and drove off in amazement at this phenomenal day. You turn on the radio to listen to more and more people who are agreeing that something like, ‘love one another’; was poured on everyone. All the world was agreeing and amazed at this, then you lazily turn the radio off.
A short while later you arrive at that place where you feel by yourself, where you are alone and can think, you get out of the car, and watch the sun set..
what would your reaction be?

Something I Found Online, What Do You Guys Who Served In Cav Units Think?
i found this online a bit ago, Im currently a 91B(light wheel mechanic) in 1st Cav Div in the Army…… Although Im in a cav unit, I do think that cav guys like the scout dudes dont get that much recognition for what they do. I was wandering if anyone who had ever served in a cav unit thought this would be offensive bc Im in a cav unit and wear the stetson.. and always get ragged on by the cav scouts and sometimes tankers too. lol… what do you guys think??
“REASONS WHY A SOLDIER OTHER THAN ARMOR IS NOT A CAVALRYMAN.
It has come to my attention that many Soldiers attched to or organic to the US Cavalry units, consider themselves Cavalrymen. Well, needless to say, I strongly disagree. Here are my reasons. Feel free to express opinion on the subject.
-Cavalry is defined as a unit consisting of horse mounted Soldiers who conduct reconnaissance, screening, raiding, etc while mounted. By this defintion, a support Soldier inside of a Cavalry unit is therefore, NOT a Cavalryman. For a Cavalryman is a horse mounted Soldier who fights and operates combat specific missions.
-One MOS of Soldiers actually recieve the Cavalry Crossed Sabers as thier official US Army MOS Insignia. 19D Cavalry Scouts! US Cavalry Scouts are the ONLY recipients of the coveted Crossed Sabers on the day the finish thier last 20-25K forced road march. Tankers also are awarded Cavalry Crossed Sabers, but they have a tank between the Sabers. This shows direct lineage from the original US Cavalry.
- Cavalry Scouts are specifically taught Fiddler’s Green from the day the Scout Drill Sergeants pick them up and begin to train them in the ways of the Cavalry. Fiddler’s Green is our own place…Not for the support Soldiers in the Cavalry. When is the last time a Cavalry medic, mechanic, supply Soldier, or human resources guy quoted or memorized from heart “Fiddler’s Green”?? they wouldnt, bc they are not Cavalrymen
-The day a Cavalry Scout graduates Scout training and recieves his Crossed Sabers is the same day that he is officially indoctrinated into the United States Cavalry. Those new Scouts dripped alot of sweat, tears, and sometimes even blood just to earn the right to be called Cavalrymen… But yet it seems the mechanic can just get stationed in a Cav unit and begin calling himself a Cavalryman… Doesnt seem right huh?
-Lets reverse things a bit, mix them up, and make you think for a second here… In an Infantry unit, only the Infantry MOS are referred to as Infantrymen… Not the supply guy, or the arms repairer.. They are support Soldiers and that is all they are referred to. Infantry has a specific role and mission just as Cavalry does. And an Infantryman would NEVER allow for a finance clerk in his unit to call himself Infantry or and Infantryman. Just as they earn thier Crossed Rifles, we earn our Crossed Sabers.
This review isnt meant to put down all the hard work, abilities, and importance of the Cavalry support personell, but is simply meant to show the TRUE defintion of a Cavalryman. Of course today’s Cavalry couldnt operate without the expertise of the mechanic who fixes our Scout vehicles or tanks. Of course today’s Cavalry couldnt efficiently and tactically complete its missions without the support of the supply personell within. As stated..they are VERY important. Just as we have earned our insignia and titles, they have earned thiers…Except for them, it’s not the Crossed Sabers and the title of Cavalrymen…
It seems that Cavalry has lost its way in letting EVERYONE reign in on it’s traditons and honors. We see this everyday as the Cavalry mechanic runs around wearing our Stetsons and Spurs. As the Artilleryman replaces out coveted “Cavalry yellow/gold” acorns and rope with his “Scarlet red” acorns and ropes. But one fact remains, there are ONLY a select few who can ALWAYS call themselves the title of Cavalrymen no matter where they are in the world. All in all, there is only room in Fiddler’s Green for the TRUE Cavalrymen. 19A/19C/19K/19D/ and Air Cavalry Pilots….
At the end of the day…IF YOU AINT CAV! YOU AINT ****! SCOUTS OUT”
