My good friend from high school was going to come visit me in Miami to celebrate our 30th birthdays together. I live in the same city as he does, but am in Florida on business. He called me a week ago and told me he had booked flight, hotel and car rental and was all set to come in May. Three days ago he text me and said he didn’t realize the package he purchased excluded airfare, and if I could lend him $100. Because I was in a meeting a swamped with work, I didn’t get a chance to respond to his text right away. But when I got home that night he had already facebook’d me calling me a “Phony friend” for not letting him borrow the money.
I responded to him by saying I had just got back from work, but that I did not have the cash to lend him. But he retorted I was being selfish and “always” had an excuse to not let him borrow money, and if he was “so-and-so” I would have let him have it. He also said not to worry as he was no longer visiting me in Miami. This sucks because now I don’t have anyone to spend my birthday with. No one in the office talks to me or invites me out, and because I’m temporary they probably don’t care. Now I’ll be alone because my “friend” couldn’t ask another friend in his OWN city for the money. Why did this happen and am I a fake friend?

Now I’m all for safety and that around food, but don’t you think people are going a bit mental about it? I know people that routinely throw away perfectly good food because the date stamp is out by a day…even on canned and vacuumed packed stuff. These procedures were created to store food for long periods without spoiling…cans of meat from the 1st world war have been opened and eaten safely!
Think of all the money wasted by fostering this inherant paranoia, when just a little common sense and a bit of nous could save millions of pounds…and if the paranoid antibacterial lot actually came into contact with a few harmless sorts, they could start to build the immunity they lack from the sterile life they have been brought into.

I watched my sisters kids for 6 hours today mowed her lawn and only asked for 15.00 dollars because it took me 10 bucks in gas just to do the whole trip so she gave me a check. Later that day we went to dennys i gave my dad 10 bucks for my food. My sister was complaining because she had to go back to my house to get her kids back back and was on empty. I offered to give her like 3 dollars so she wouldn’t run out of gas she was basically talking down to me saying i’m an idiot and have no concept in money. She went on about how she doesn’t have much money until payday and had to give me 15.00 dollars as if it were a problem? I was doing her a favor basically my dad gave her the 10 bucks back for some gas it didn’t really matter in the end she was crazy ungrateful and rude.

She’s in her early 20’s, recently married and an all around sweetheart. Very responsible and the couple just bought a small starter home. She works as a teller in a bank and named him Cash….as in money….that she works with on a daily basis. Is this not weird to anyone else?

If its my girlfriend flirting with my buddy, get snitched on in school, getting my money stolen, my dad acting like a douche, i will be furious for only several minutes and then i dont care. It sounds like a good thing but it bothers me i need anger to fight and make sure it doesnt hapoen again. Ok so I’m currently 2 months pregnant and a college drop out. I dropped out of college because I went to a local community college and ended up homeless (my ex kicked me out) so had to drop out. Then I tried to go back to the same school and they put me on academic probation for what happened last semester, kicked me out, and said I owed them. I tried to talk to them about it but they claimed it was the government’s rules, I could file an appeal but it might not be accepted. I gave up. Now I’m 2 months pregnant, I want to go back to school but I got loans and only have 6 months to go back to school or else I’d default on my loans. I can’t go back to the community college either.
I want to go ahead since college is something I always wanted but at the same time, I feel like giving up because my boyfriend has his own business and supports us. But I want to be an example to my first unborn baby and to his daughter that a female can do something with her life. I feel like college is a scam because it costs way too much but I also see it as an investment because you are more likely to find a good job in this economy.
I don’t know what to do.
I want to graduate college so I can look back years from now and have no regrets.
I figured if I go to college while pregnant and after the baby, I could go online which would give me flexibility, but I know the economy sucks and even people with degrees are on welfare too because it’s just hard out there in the job market. Going to college online would give me time to spend with the baby without having to leave it with a baby sitter
I honestly do feel like college isn’t for everyone because there are people who have moved up in the same job for years and never went. My bf never went to college and he owns one business and co owns another. But in this economy, with the average 21 year old girl like me, I might really need it. Then when the baby gets in school, I could work while the baby’s in school or something. That way I won’t feel like I had to give up any career or baby time while caring for an infant. I don’t know what to do?
I’m a smart girl, I was on the honor roll all throughout high school. I graduated with a 3.5 GPA. I don’t want that success to go to a waste. I went to an inner city high school and while students were dropping out and acting crazy, I studied my butt off and earned my diploma.
