Sounds to me like more people in the United States would make fun of rather than vote for a Michelle Bachman or a Rick Santorum, for example, so why are their more presidential candidates that are extremely religious than someone who is generally skeptical of religion?
More to the point: Why are atheists and Jews for that matter, simply unelectable in most districts?
Do they actually believe one must talk about “the devil” to have a grasp of how real economics work, or is it just personal bias?
How is it that a country with a secular Constitution has a government that has become an EXTENSION of its organized religion itself? Money?
How does the fact that half of America doesn’t vote play into this?

It’s a sad, sad shame and I can’t begin to wrap my brain around it let alone explain it.
I wonder about that too. If I were American I wouldn’t be paying attention to what candidate was promising to end gay marriage or reduce abortion or accusing other candidates of blasphemy or cheating on his wife. I’d be listening to the most logical talk of needed changes. I find it sad that an atheist candidate would get fewer voters than a Muslim candidate, at least the second is somewhat understandable. The country was founded by a man who said it didn’t make a difference to him whether his neighbour said there were twenty gods or none.
cuz over here the majority are christians and if a candidate says anything religious, he’s seen as the perfect person for president but if they were to say “im an atheist” there would probably be riots. so basically people only vote for someone who shares the same beliefs. obviously this method has perfectly… i mean look at how great our economy is… NOT!
Most people think that you have to believe in talking snakes, genocidal floods and Jewish zombies in order to be a good, moral person, which is bullshit. That is why atheists can’t be politicians in the current political climate in the US.
Erm…not american…but…
I guess cause there’s a larger population of christians and so its beneficial to the campaign… I mean no politician is really a christian lets face it, lie cheat and swindle is the whole idea there…
Naturally Xians don’t want a “unholy” man as president
Only the Republican contenders are in the news. Republicans are their own worst enemy.
Because America is a country based on Christian beliefs.
